The Practice of Creativity

The Practice of Creativity

A Day of Yoga & Monoprinting at Vault Artist Studios

What happens when we approach creativity as a practice rather than a talent?

Join us for the first in a new series of immersive day retreats exploring the meeting point between yoga and creative expression. Held in the inspiring surroundings of Vault Artist Studios, this nourishing day invites you to slow down, move, make, and reconnect with your innate capacity to create.

We'll begin the morning with an all-levels yoga practice led by Susan McEwen. Through mindful movement, breath and gentle flow, we'll awaken the body, settle the nervous system, and create space for curiosity, presence and play. This is not about achieving the perfect pose—it is about arriving fully in yourself, so that creativity can emerge with greater ease.

After practice, we'll gather around a beautiful homemade lunch, sharing food and conversation before moving into the studio for an afternoon of creative exploration.

Artist Wilhelmina Peace will guide you through the expressive world of monoprinting—a wonderfully intuitive printmaking process where experimentation is encouraged and every piece is completely unique. You'll be introduced to a range of techniques including direct drawing, negative drawing, texture printing and botanical transfers, creating a collection of your own original prints to take home.

Drawing on themes of mythology, nature, dreams and imagination, Wilhelmina's approach offers an invitation to reconnect with creativity as something deeply human, playful and accessible. Whether you've never picked up a printing tool before or already have an established creative practice, this workshop is designed to meet you exactly where you are.

This day isn't about making "good" art. It's about making space—for exploration, expression, rest, connection and joy. Together we'll cultivate the conditions where both body and imagination can flourish.
