At Yoga Quarter we have been hosting yoga retreats for many years, welcoming people from our local YQ community, Ireland, the UK and further afield who are looking to step away from everyday life and take time for themselves.

A yoga retreat is time to pause. It is a place where you can come and be listened to, nurtured mentally and nourished physically.

It is where a group of people come together with a shared intention of being present and taking time out of their busy lives just for themselves.

Through yoga, nourishing food, time in nature and supportive community, there is space to rest, reset and restore energy.

At Yoga Quarter we hold space for people who have enjoyed many retreats over the years and for those who may be venturing on their very first retreat.

WHAT IS A RETREAT?

The word retreat comes from the idea of stepping back from the pressures of daily life in order to reflect, restore balance and reconnect with yourself.

At Yoga Quarter we are fortunate to have a very special team of teachers who, over the years, have built a strong and welcoming community. Our teachers host a range of practices including Flow, Yin, Nidra and Restorative yoga.

Retreats include morning and evening yoga, meditation, nourishing meals, usually three a day and fresh juices and tea and coffee. It is a time to relax, explore the local surroundings or simply enjoy being somewhere beautiful and peaceful.

What happens on a yoga retreat?

Many people ask this question before booking their first yoga retreat.

A typical retreat follows a gentle rhythm designed to support you. One of our Yoga Quarter teachers is there throughout the retreat, warmly welcoming you and holding space for the entire experience.

Mornings often begin with yoga followed by breakfast and free time to relax or explore the local surroundings.

Afternoons might include workshops, nature walks or simply time to read, swim or rest.

Evenings often bring another yoga practice and shared meals, creating connection with others attending the retreat. Sometimes there may also be the opportunity to explore the local culture, such as visiting a night market or joining a cooking class.

Yoga retreats combine movement, rest and community, creating an environment where people can truly switch off.

Are yoga retreats only for experienced yogis?

Not at all. Many people attending their first yoga retreat are beginners. Some come on their own knowing nobody, while others attend with friends, or family members.

Retreats are often the perfect environment to begin or deepen your yoga journey. Without the pressures of everyday life, you can practise at your own pace and build confidence in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Whether you are completely new to yoga, have practised for years elsewhere or are part of the Yoga Quarter community, retreats offer the opportunity to explore yoga in a deeper and more meaningful way.

Why choose a Yoga Quarter retreat?

Yoga Quarter retreats are thoughtfully designed to feel personal, supportive and deeply restorative. Each retreat is carefully planned, with exceptional food and beautiful locations chosen to inspire, uplift and help you truly relax.

Unlike larger retreats that host dozens of people, ours are intentionally small. Groups usually include between eight and fourteen people, allowing the teaching team to get to know everyone and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Our retreats are also ideal for people who are solo travellers, travelling on their own.

We think carefully about every step you take to reach a Yoga Quarter retreat, including airport transfers, and we do everything we can to make the journey as smooth and stress free as possible.

From the moment you arrive, thoughtful introductions and a carefully planned programme help you settle in and gently step away from the pace of everyday life.

Amazing food lies at the heart of all our retreats. Food to nourish, replenish and inspire. We work with chefs or book retreat places where the food is incredible and as foodie lovers ourselves we realise how important this is.
