We invite you to join the Yoga Quarter team for a yoga retreat at Huerta Belinda, a stunning mansion in Andalusia. This retreat provides the chance to rest and rejuvenate with twice daily yoga, stunning accommodation and nourishing plant-based meals.

Location

The villa is situated next to a small gem of an urbanisation with some 200 houses and villas sprawling over the hillside, across the road and down into the valley. It has a very laid back design and atmosphere.

It is only 8 kilometers from the lovely small bohemian town of Tarifa and its fantastic wide uncrowded beaches.

There are no high rise buildings in Tarifa and it is composed of a quaint old town and the newer part of town through the arched main gate. It is steeped in history and was a important stronghold over the centuries due to its location and for the ability to see all ships passing through the Straits of Gibraltar. Today it still retains its small fishing village feel.

Accommodation

The house consists of one main block, with lots of nooks and crannies that keep you guessing and that ultimately lead to the various different bedrooms and casual areas.

Having driven through the gates into the private grounds and parking up, there is then an inviting wooden double door entrance, behind which holds the magic of this property.

Stepping through this entrance brings you into a fantastic courtyard with a covered walkway, complemented by a three tier fountain, pillars and painted Andalusian pictorial tiles, all softened with vivid green plants against the tiled walls.

Looking straight ahead, framed through an archway is the view of Gibralmussa, the African half of the pillars of Hercules. Turning to the right sit two large stand alone rocks, between which is set a patio area with a bbq and the kidney shaped pool.

Yoga Practices, Treatments & Activities

This yoga retreat is the perfect opportunity to deepen your personal yoga practice. 
Daily morning and late afternoon yoga practices will be offered in the stunning onsite shala, led by a highly experienced yoga teacher.

Practices will be accessible to a range of experience – beginners and seasoned yogis are all welcome. Yoga mats and props are provided. 

Trips to the nearby village as well as a holistic treatment are included in this retreat package.

Food

You won't be hungry at Huerta Belinda! 

We believe it's important to nourish your body while on a yoga retreat, so three delicious and nutritious vegetarian/vegan meals are lovingly prepared every day.

Talented Chef Raul Crespo has years of experience with vegetarian and vegan food in a variety of settings around the world.

We start the day with warming tea, fruit and nuts to fuel us for our morning yoga practice. After practice we then serve a nourishing breakfast of rice, millet, quinoa or buckwheat porridge with fruit salad, toasted nuts and seeds, and freshly squeezed juice.

Lunch is the biggest meal of the day when our stomachs are best able to digest. Dinners are light to help us sleep more deeply.

About the team

Susan McEwen, Retreat Host & Senior Yoga Teacher

Susan is one of Yoga Quarter’s owners and a pillar of the Yoga practices offered at the studio. She has many years of experience in leading retreats and making people feel comfortable whilst they relax and enjoy their time away.

Susan will be the lead host for this retreat and you will surely have an amazing time away with her. Her practices will complement nicely the sunshine and relaxation you will be soaking into!

Shannon Cunningham, Retreat Host and Yoga Teacher

Shannon has been practicing Yoga for almost a decade and is one of our main teachers at Yoga Quarter. Her enthusiasm for teaching and her passion for Yoga are contagious.

Her classes are person centred, inclusive and responsive to everyone’s needs so regardless of your experience of Yoga before this retreat you will learn a lot by practicing with Shannon!

We couldn’t dream of a better host for this retreat and are over the moon that Shannon is joining us for this lovely time away.
